			ACTIVITIES DURING MAY, 2014
			 
			
				- 
				
				Dengue Awareness Seminar in 
				Collaboration with Social Welfare Department of Punjab.  
				One day seminar for Dengue awareness & training of Health Care 
				Workers was arranged in collaboration with Social Welfare 
				Department, Govt. of the Punjab. Our staff of Health Centres & 
				head office attended the seminar along with volunteers from 
				various colleges.  
				Dr. Shagufta Zaidi, Director Technical, MCWAP & Dr. Toqeer gave 
				brief talks on Dengue fever, it’s cause & it’s prevention. A 
				trainer from Dengue cell of Health Department conducted a 
				training session. Staff of Rescue 1122 services was also invited 
				to teach various life saving techniques to the participants. 
				Seminar ended with closing remarks by Mrs. Farzana Sami 
				President MCWAP.

				Dr. Asif Coordinator between UNICEF 
				& Health Department Punjab was invited for a meeting. Mrs. 
				Farzana Sami, President, Mr. M. Arshad Parwaiz Joint Secretary & 
				Dr. Shagufta Zaidi Director Technical MCWAP attended the 
				meeting. Various aspects for collaboration were discussed & 
				plans for collaboration & coordination are under process.

				Pharmacy services re-organized. 
				Protocols for functioning of pharmacies prepared & circulated. 
				Purchase of medicines required is under process. Sterilization 
				techniques in the centers improved through proper training on 
				use of AUTOCLAFE.   
				- 
				
				A meeting was held at MCWAP Head 
				Office at with Dr. Wajiha Ghais, Innovation Fund Manager for 
				Empowerment, Voice and Accountability for Better Health & 
				Nutrition Project from Future Groups. Empowerment, Voice and 
				Accountability for better health is 4 years programme by DFID’s 
				Provincial Health & Nutrition programme.  
				 
				A presentation was made by Dr. Shagufta Zaidi, Director 
				Technical, about MCWAP its history, detail of projects conducted 
				& various health care services being provided. Efforts of MCWAP 
				in the field of Maternal & Child Health were appreciated. Our 
				potential for conducting any project was reviewed by them. 
				Further meetings are being planned for this purpose. 
   
				- 
				
				Free Health Care Medical Camp was 
				held in collaboration with BHU Hayer, Health Department Govt. of 
				the Punjab at our MCH Centre Hayer. 39 patients attended the 
				camp, who were examined by Medical Officer. Given medicines 
				(free). They were educated on various health topics. Growth 
				monitoring & immunization of children was done. Family planning 
				advice was also imported to women of child bearing age. 
				 
				- 
				
				Free Medical Camp was arranged at 
				Dera Chahal Centre on in collaboration with BHU Kirbath. 
				Activities as in Hayer camp were conducted. 154 patients 
				attended the camp. Mr. Suhail Awan a prominent community leader 
				from Dera Chahal was invited to inaugurate the camp.  
				 
			 
			
			ACTIVITIES DURING JUNE, 2014
			 
			
				- 
				
				Vaccination of children & pregnant 
				women started at Hayer centre once a week through cooperation of 
				BHU Hayer with proper maintenance of cold chain. Vaccines are 
				supplied by BHU Hayer. They are collected form there in the 
				morning on vaccination day & returned back after usage in the 
				afternoon for storage in the ILR.  All this process is free 
				of cost.   
				- 
				
				One day training of staff of centres 
				conducted on Infection Prevention & Control, Sterilization of 
				Instruments, Waste Disposal & New born Care.  
				Dr. Nudrat Rashid Assistant Professor, King Edward Medical 
				University / Addl. Medical Superintendent, Lady Aitchison 
				Hospital, Lahore was invited as training coordinator. Staff was 
				instructed in latest techniques. This will be very helpful in 
				uplifting patient care in our community MCH Centres.  
				 
				- 
				
				A meeting was held with volunteers 
				from Lahore College University, Lahore and Kinnaird College and 
				Universty of the Punjab, Lahore in collaboration with 
				Development Dimensional Society. Two amongst the volunteers 
				agreed to work at our field MCH centres. This will further 
				improve our welfare activities.   
			 
			
			ACTIVITIES DURING JULY, 2014
			 
			
				- 
				
				It was observed that LHV’s were not 
				well versed in doing laboratory tests. One day training workshop 
				was arranged for them. LHV’s of both MCH centres of MCWAP 
				attended the training workshop.  
				Laboratory Technician from Lady Aitchison Hospital, Lahore was 
				invited to MCH Centre to instruct the staff. This will be very 
				helpful in uplifting patient care in our community MCH Centres.
				 
				Now following tests are being done in our MCH Centres

				Coordination has been developed 
				between MCWAP and DDO Health, Wagha Town, Lahore for vaccination

				week with proper maintenance of cold chain.  All this process is free of cost.

				System of procurement of Family 
				Planning items arranged with Family Planning Association. LHV 
				was purchasing & selling herself without proper documentation.
				  
			 
			
			ACTIVITIES DURING AUGUST, 2014
			 
			
				- 
				
				 Medical Camps were held in MCH 
				Centre Dera Chahal on 07th August, 12th August and 21st August, 
				2014. Patients were examined and treated by Dr. Tahira Shafqat, 
				Principal Public Health Nursing School (Retd) who has 
				volunteered to work for MCWAP twice a week. They were also 
				educated on various health topics. Family planning advice was 
				also imparted to women of child bearing age.  
				- 
				
				Medical Camps were held in MCH 
				Centre Hayer on 16th August, 20th August, 25th August, & 26th 
				August, 2014. Patients were examined and treated by Dr. Tahira 
				Shafqat, Principal Public Health Nursing School (Retd). They 
				were also educated on various health topics. Family planning 
				advice was also imparted to women of child bearing age. 
				 
				- 
				
				Visit of internees from Lahore 
				College University and Kinnaird College, Lahore arranged to Dera 
				Chahal village for research purpose.   
				- 
				
				Medicines required purchased, 
				entered on stock register and issued to MCH centres as per their 
				demand.   
				- 
				
				On 26th August, 2014 a free medical 
				camp was arranged in Dera Chahal Centre of MCWAP in 
				collaboration with Basic Health Unit (Health Department, Govt. 
				of the Punjab) Liddher. Incharge Medical Officer Dr. Zufaida 
				along with her staff came to our centre.

			Centre of MCWAP in collaboration with Basic Health Unit (Health

				One week training sessions were 
				arranged at Reproductive Health Care Centre, Lady Aitchison 
				Hospital, Lahore for training our 03 LHVs on Advance Family 
				Planning Techniques & Attitude / Behavior Changes Methods 
				towards Child Spacing. This will help in their motivational 
				approach and improve our child spacing services.

				Field visits are regularly done by 
				field staff of MCWAP for motivation on various health related 
				problems as Family Planning, Breast Feeding, Hygiene etc. 
				  
				- 
				
				Dr. Tahira Shafqat a Senior 
				Gynaecologist visited and examined patients at MCH Centre, Hayer 
				and Dera Chahal twice in both centres.   
			 
			
			ACTIVITIES DURING OCTOBER, 2014
			 
			
				- 
				
				On 01st October, 2014 a free sugar 
				camp was held at MCH Centre of MCWAP at Dera Chahal village. The 
				activity started at 09:30am and continued till 01:00pm. 
				M/s Sanofi Aventis (Pharmaceutical firm) helped in arranging 
				this free sugar camp.  
				The camp was attended by large number of patients and ran 
				smoothly with following counters
